YENTRI TAN


Yentri Tan is a graduated BA (Hons) in Media Arts, with specialization in Video Art. She finished her bachelor degree at Lasalle, College of the Arts, Singapore on September 2009.

During her time in the college, she had worked as a part-time Trainer, teaching students in various schools in Singapore with her art Knowledge as well as her multimedia skills. Given the opportunities to work as a freelance multimedia designer, she continues the path to improve her skills further in the multimedia world.

It is with much pride that I follow Yentri’s development, from a hesitant teenager, to a confident and articulate young woman and artist since the past 3 years. She was always open to criticism and ideas, never afraid to experiment with new materials, and also demonstrated leadership capabilities, especially given her eye for detail. Her dedication and hard work were proofs of her passion and focus in what she was doing. I do foresee her moving on to accomplish good things in life, be they in teaching or practicing in the field of the arts, or in other areas, which I have no doubt she will similarly devote her sincere efforts.

Yentri Tan is equipped with both digital and visual art knowledge. Within the past 3 years, other than being involved in videography, she has been trained and practising multi-disciplinary media skills such as photography, collaborative animation projects, product, graphic and website design.

As a video-artist, Yentri focuses on social-issues, which related to the media and politics in most of her art-works. She always starts the exploration by questioning her position in particular situation in society. She also came up with a strong, provocative statement and exhibits herself as part of the work. In both performance-installations, Yentri competently combined and drew upon her skills in video, set-design, installation, performance, props-creation and directing.
